外国语学院成立于2004年，是山东外事职业大学建立最早的二级学院之一。目前有应用英语、大学英语、应用日语、应用韩语等8个教研室。经过多年的发展，已形成多语种、多层次、开放型的办学格局。

学院现设有11个外语语种：英语、日语、韩语、法语、德语、俄语、西班牙语、阿拉伯语、意大利语、葡萄牙语、荷兰语。其中应用英语、应用日语、应用外语、应用法语、应用韩语5个专业为本科专业。

作为山东外事职业大学“外事知识+外语能力+专业技能+综合素养”特色人才培养模式的重要依托，外国语学院积极打造教学创新团队，不断调整专业定位，着力培养学生的外语基本素养，成效显著。商务英语专业先后被评为“山东省省级示范专业”，“山东省省级特色专业”，“省级优秀教学团队”。2014年，以商务英语为龙头的英、日、韩3专业获批山东省品牌专业群；2019年，商务英语、商务日语成为国家首批“本科层次职业教育试点专业”。2021年，应用韩语、应用外语获批本科层次职业教育专业。2022年我院获批省级“智能多语种人机交互新技术研发中心”；同年，应用英语专业获批省级“教学创新团队”。

近五年来，学院学生在国家和省级各类专业技能大赛中获得各类奖励104项,其中国家级奖项39项，学院学生连续获得第八届、第九届、第十届全国高等职业院校日语技能大赛一等奖。

外国语学院坚持国际化办学方向，先后和美国、英国、俄罗斯、日本、韩国、西班牙、法国等国家和地区的多所学校开展教育合作，合作项目包括专升本、专升硕、本硕连读、交换生、短期研修等众多形式，实现师生互访、学历认证、资源共享、教育衔接。

学院不断加快教学设备的更新和实训条件的建设，拥有设备先进的应用外国语实训中心，设有同声传译室、多功能智慧教室、多语种国际智慧教室、多功能智慧录播室、笔译实训室、商务谈判室等30多个外语教学实验实训室，供外语所有语种教学使用。该中心为威海市职业教育市级示范实训基地，构成了语音教学平台、视听情境模拟实训平台、国际商务技能实训平台和教学资源服务平台等，以满足外国语学院所有语种的课堂教学、课内实践、课后实训以及社会服务的需求。

学院充分利用自身优势，积极为地方经济社会发展服务。学院先后为威海市外事办、乳山市教体局提供“高级外语培训”和外语课程服务；为第七届中日教育交流会提供同声传译志愿服务；学院师生为“2022对话山东—韩国·山东产业合作交流会”、“国际乒联男女世界杯”赛事、韩亚航空高尔夫公开赛等系列活动提供外宾接待、外事翻译等志愿服务,得到社会各界的广泛好评和认可，社会声誉不断提高。

Introduction to the School of Foreign Languages

Founded in 2004, the School of Foreign Languages is one of the earliest second-level schools established by Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs. Currently, it possess Department of Applied English, Department of College English, Department of Applied Japanese, Department of Applied Korean and other departments totally in eight .After years of development, a multilingual, multi-level and open school-running pattern has been formed.

The school now offers 11 foreign languages: English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch, among which there are 6 undergraduate majors: Applied English, Applied Japanese, Applied Foreign Language, Applied French and Applied Korean.

As an important prop for the distinctive talent training model of “foreign affairs knowledge + foreign language ability + professional skills + comprehensive literacy” of Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs, the School of Foreign Languages actively builds innovative teaching teams, constantly adjusts its major orientation, and strives to cultivate students’ basic foreign language literacy, which has lead to remarkable success. The Business English major has been rated as “Shandong Provincial Model Major”, “Shandong Province Provincial Distinctive Major”, and the faculty of Business English has been rated as “Provincial Excellent Teaching Team”.In 2014, the combination of three majors, namely English, Japanese and Korean were listed in “Shandong Province Brand Major Group”.In 2019, Business English and Business Japanese became the first batch of “Pilot Majors for Vocational Education at the Undergraduate Level” in China. In 2021, the Applied Korean Major and Applied Foreign Language Major were approved as vocational education majors at the undergraduate level. In 2022, the provincial “Intelligent and Multilingual Human-Computer Interaction New Technology R&D Center” was approved and settled down in the School of Foreign Languages and the faculty of Applied English was honored as a provincial “Innovative Teaching Team”.

In the past five years, the students of the school have won 104 awards in various national and provincial professional skills competitions, including 39 national awards, and the students of the school have won the first prize of the 8th, 9th and 10th National Higher Vocational College Japanese Language Skills Competition.

Adhering to the internationalized running, the School of Foreign Languages has successively carried out educational cooperation with schools in the United States, Britain, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Spain, France and other countries and regions, and the cooperation projects includeup-graded undergraduate education, up-gradedpostgraduateeducation, continuous education for both undergraduate and postgraduate, exchange students, short-term training and many other forms to achieve mutual visits between teachers and students, academic certification, resource sharing, and educational connection.

The school continues to accelerate the renewal of teaching facilities and the construction of practical training conditions. It has an advanced training center for applied foreign languages, equipped with more than 30 foreign language teaching experimental training rooms including simultaneous interpretation rooms, multi-functional smart classrooms, multilingual smart classrooms, multi-functional smart recording rooms, translation training rooms, business negotiation rooms and others for foreign language teaching and application. The center is a municipal demonstration training base for vocational education in Weihai, which constitutes a phonetics teaching platform, an audiovisual situation simulation platform, an international business skills training platform and a teaching resource service platform to meet the needs of classroom teaching, in-class practice, after-class practical training and social services of all languages of theSchool of Foreign Languages.

Making the most of it, theSchool of Foreign Languageshas actively served the local economic and social development. The school has successively offered “Advanced Training Class of Foreign Language” and foreign language courses for Weihai Foreign Affairs Office and Rushan Education and Sports Bureau; it also offers volunteer services of simultaneous interpretation for the 7th China-Japan Education Exchange Conference and other services like reception and translation for oversea guests in various activities, such as the “2022 A Dialogue Between Shandong & South Korea: Shandong Industrial Cooperation Exchange Meeting”, the “ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) Men’s and Women’s World Cup”, and the Open Golf Tournament Sponsored by Asiana Airlines. We have been widely praised and recognized by all walks of life with ever higher social reputation.
